This is not just a program — this is your way to Black Belt. It speaks for itself.
We keep it easy on the organizational side so you can focus on polishing your skills and truly mastering all Gracie Jiu-Jitsu® techniques:
Unlike other Jiu-Jitsu academies, we have clearly defined programs for each cycle. Our Master Cycle includes seven positional chapters:
Each chapter is thoroughly studied for several months before moving to the next section.
Moreover, as a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu® student, you can repeat lessons on-demand to polish your moves and make sure you’ve achieved proficiency in all of them.
Each lesson is designed to eliminate the blank spots and enhance your Gracie Jiu-Jitsu® skills:
Every Master Cycle lesson begins with a 15-20 minute warm-up period that allows you to review previous lessons or explore techniques you may have learned online through Gracie University.
During the review period, we encourage you to collaborate with your training partners and ask questions of the instructors. There’s no excuse to leave holes in your technical knowledge base.
When previous lessons are 100% clear — the instructor will present 2-3 new techniques from the chapter. You will then practice the techniques with a cooperative partner until the movements become natural.
At the end of each lesson, you will have a chance to test your skills in a variety of sparring exercises:
Safety is the primary concern during these exercises, so students who don’t show sufficient respect to their training partners and the University’s rules will not be allowed to participate. Sparring is 100% voluntary for Master Cycle® students.
This is a unique privilege of Master Cycle® students: you can train at any Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center®, anywhere in the world.
Traveling or work trips should not be an obstacle on your way to Black belt:
If you travel to a city with a Certified Training Center, simply let them know that you’re a CTC family member, and you can participate in any class for free for up to 30 consecutive days.
